The central surround sound system included with the YAS-70 features 6 35-watt speakers designed to flawlessly reproduce all digital surround sound signals from a variety of sources. The YAS-70 provides surround sound experience - without the need for the usual multi-speaker system. DVD movies and other sources (including stereo sources like TV) will be heard in dynamic surround sound. The design is both elegant and flexible – you won’t need speaker boxes and whole-room installations. Both units can be positioned in the center of the viewing space as well as in a corner. If your looking for a reasonably priced, full feature surround system, the Yamaha YAS-70 is the perfect ticket. The sound reproduction is awsome and the simplicity of the system is unbelievable. The system only took minutes to install and did not require a half day to run speaker wire. The built-in FM tuner allows you to listen to radio broadcasts.
What Is
High Definition And How Is It Different From Standard Definition?
High Definition or "HD" is a
technological leap forward from standard definition, with up to 6x the
picture resolution, so that what you see is sharper and more realistic. Regular TVs and the TV channels you watch
at home are typically in standard definition (unless you watch HD channels).
DVD are also in standard definition. Standard definition (480i & 480p)
is lower quality than high definition. Many older TV sets are standard
def, and can only show standard def content (programming). Many new
TVs are called High Definition TVs (HDTV). They are capable of showing
high def content in: 720p, 1080i, and 1080p, all high definition
